Dermal Fillers

Whether you want to smooth out wrinkles, add volume to your lips, or enhance the contours of other facial features, dermal filler injections at our Oklahoma City med spa offer a safe and effective solution. Board-certified plastic surgeon Dr. Oscar Masters and our aesthetic specialists use JUVÉDERM®, Restylane®, and Sculptra® Aesthetic fillers to create attractive, natural-looking results.

What Are Dermal Fillers?

Fillers such as the JUVÉDERM and Restylane product lines are injectable gels formulated with hyaluronic acid, a substance naturally produced by the body that attracts water molecules and keeps the skin plump and hydrated.

Sculptra is a unique biostimulator that works differently from traditional hyaluronic acid fillers. Instead of immediately adding volume to the treated area, Sculptra boosts the body’s own collagen production over time. This gradual process results in natural-looking and long-lasting improvements in skin texture, elasticity, and volume.

What Do Fillers Treat?

Injectable fillers are incredibly versatile and can treat many areas of the face with virtually no downtime and no incisions.

If you’re bothered by any of the following, a treatment with fillers may be appropriate for you:

  • Nasolabial folds, which run from the nose to the corners of the mouth
  • Marionette lines, which run downward from the corners of the mouth
  • Fine lip lines
  • Lost volume in the cheeks
  • Thin or asymmetrical lips
  • Hollows under the eyes (tear troughs)

In addition to targeting early signs of aging, many younger patients get fillers to enhance the contours of their cheeks, jawlines, or chins.

What’s the Difference Between Fillers and BOTOX®?

Fillers and BOTOX both target signs of aging, but they target different types of wrinkles and fine lines. Fillers smooth wrinkles that develop as your skin loses volume and produces less collagen. BOTOX and Dysport® reduce the appearance of dynamic wrinkles, such as frown lines, crow’s feet, and forehead lines, caused by repetitive muscle movements. Combining filler and BOTOX injections during an appointment comprehensively rejuvenates the face.

Which Filler Is Right for You?

The days of choosing from one or two workhorse fillers are long gone. Both JUVÉDERM and Restylane offer highly specialized fillers designed to treat specific areas of the face. Dr. Masters considers the consistency of the gel in a particular filler when deciding which filler is best for you. Fillers from both manufacturers come pre-mixed with a local anesthetic to minimize discomfort during the treatments. Depending on the filler used and the area targeted, the results can last from 6 months to as long as 2 years.

Sculptra

Sculptra is formulated with poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA) and is a biostimulator that works within the skin’s deeper layers to stimulate natural collagen formation, restoring volume and refining lines. As new collagen builds, it provides a foundation that gradually plumps the skin. These natural-looking results can last up to 2 years.
